Bellevue Farms, a program of Bellevue Community Center 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, has a mission to increase access to fresh, locally grown food and help build an equitable and sustainable food system. Since the Covid-19 pandemic began, we have seen a surge of people in need of access to fresh food. While many operations help with non-perishable foods, fresh food is hard to come by. Everyone needs access to fresh food to live healthful lives. In addition, due to a break in the supply chain, farms actually have surplus food going to waste because of a lack of distribution ability. We are currently working with a USDA Farmers to Families contractor that buys surplus fresh, local food then we distribute to our communities in need. This program will end June 30 and we hope to continue the effort. To do so, we must raise money for buying fresh locally grown food and for transportation to distribute food and offer delivery for safe access during this pandemic. Our goal is to reach over 300 people per week through the summer. This food will go to families, vulnerable individuals, and senior citizens in addition to folks experiencing unusual hardship. Your contribution helps increase access to fresh food and supports our local farmers. This is our community. Thank you!
