Friends of Boise-Eliot Humboldt (BEH) Elementary – We need you!
COVID-19 forced us to cancel our major fundraising events (Blue & Gold Party and Mississippi Street Fair) leaving us with a significant funding gap for essential programs. While times have changed, our commitment to enhancing food security for vulnerable families, supporting teachers (supplies, field trips and learning programs) and hosting educational events for our community is stronger than ever.
While this is a challenging time for so many, any support will help BEH bridge a fundraising gap and allow us to continue to deliver meaningful services and support to students, families and teachers.
Thank you for your support. Stay safe and stay strong!
BEH is a close-knit, diverse and energetic community committed to creating a productive and positive learning environment for students, and to nurturing connections between students, families, teachers, staff and neighbors. We are a Title I school with a large concentration of low-income families and 100% of our student population receiving free lunch. Learn more here or visit our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/BEHSchool/.
To partner with parents, teachers and community members in supporting the growth and development of our students. Together we aim to build community within our school and empower our students to reach their full potential as productive, responsible citizens of their own communities.
Why We Fundraise:
To support our mission and continue providing vital services to BEH families. Not being able to hold our 2020 fundraising events creates gaps that jeopardize our ability to meet these objectives. For every dollar we raise, 100% will go directly to the following programs for the 2020-21 school year:
BEH Food Pantry. The BEH food pantry serves as an on-demand resource for our most vulnerable families. The pantry also supports The Backpack Program, discreetly filling and sending backpacks of food home with students every weekend. We accept donations of nonperishable and perishable food items as well as monetary donations. The PTA and community volunteers operate the program.
Holiday Food Drive. The BEH PTA collects, fills and delivers perishable and nonperishable food items and toys for approximately 40 families, providing much needed food security over the PPS winter break.
BEH Tees. For the 2020-21 school year, the BEH PTA's goal is to provide a free BEH Pride t-shirt to every student and teacher. BEH students wear school uniforms and this t-shirt complies with the dress code.
Teacher Support. From pencils and paper to educational field trips, new books to online learning, we support our amazing teachers! We also support the SUN School, an essential afterschool program provided at no cost to students who qualify.
Community Events. BEH hosts many educational and community programs throughout the school year. We invite authors, scientists, musicians and artists to inspire students, provide a meal for attendees, and bring community members together to connect and learn!
