2019 is the 5th annual Climbing for ROMP event. Climbing for ROMP is a global initiative to give mobility to others! We raise money and awareness for amputees who do not have access to prosthetic care. By registering, you are directly impacting an amputee in need through ROMP's clinics and programs in Latin America and the US.
HEY YOU GUYSSSSS!!!!!
I've been at grad school kicking butt and taking names.... I will be home for a visit in August between semesters and what better way to see everyone than to put on a #climbingforromp event!
I hope that you all can join me to climb Handies Peak a beautiful 14,058 ft mountain located just outside of Silverton, ten mile round trip!
Trail start, outside of Eureka, at Grouse Gulch trail head -> American basin -> Handies Peak
There are plenty of nice places to turn around if people don't want to do the round trip!
We are wanting to get an early start due to weather: we will start at 5:00 a.m. to beat the potential storms that are typical during this time of year.
This year due to school I wont be able to attend Range of Motion Project's climb for Cotopaxi, but that wont stop me from showing the importance of mobility and raising funds to help those who are in need of orthotic and prosthetic care!!!!
Brandon and I will camping outside Silverton and there is plenty of open space around for anyone to join! To sign up it is a $40 donation for non-students and $25 for students!
What do you get out of this you might ask?! Well, first off the funds raised goes towards a cause that I am deeply passionate about and you will be giving to those in need.
Range of Motion Project and myself will have all kinds of great swag and snacks AND this climb will be sponsored by Durango's local Backcountry Experience has some great gifts for you all as well!!!!
I hope you will sign up and join us on August 17th for knee slappn' good ol' time and if you cant I hope you will find it in your heart to donate funds to such a worthy cause.
No donation is too small!!!! I love you all so much and I am beyond grateful for the love and support each of you has shown me over the years :)
