Q: Why support this non-profit organization?
A: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) mission is to: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
LLS is the world’s largest nonprofit dedicated to fighting blood cancer – leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma - which are the third leading cause of cancer deaths among Americans. LLS is at the forefront of the fight to cure cancer, dedicated to finding cures for the nearly 1.3 million people in the U.S. who are living with, or are in remission from, leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma and other blood cancers. By fundraising for LLS, we are advancing science and supporting blood cancer patients!
Q: Why is a hockey team doing this fundraiser?
A: The Bedford Bears organization promotes teamwork and a sense of community among our players and their families. By donating to causes that have touched the lives of our players, we are building awareness, raising money for research, and encouraging our players to be charitable and generous young men and women.
We hope that this fundraiser will teach our players that, when they work together as a team and challenge themselves to skate that extra lap, they can truly make an impact!
