Hello friends, family, and potential donors!
In September I climbed Kilimanjaro in Tanzania as part of a fundraising effort for a wonderful charity called BecomingX.
But before I took one step toward the summit, my new Mountain Family and I visited the school that we are raising funds to help support. I saw the single classroom where one teacher attempts to educate a class of 60. Before the charity Moving Mountains constructed this classroom, the students living in this village had to walk hours through dangerous terrain to the nearest school. In January, the number of students enrolled in this new single classroom school will balloon to over 300. Moving Mountains and BecomingX are currently in the process of raising money to open 3 new classrooms, and supplement the salaries of two new teachers. Work that MUST be completed in time for the new students and school year.
In honor of the 5,895 metres of Kilimanjaro I am attempting to raise $5,895 for Becoming X. All of the money I raise will go directly to the charity, and this year's fundraising effort will be used to help finish construction of this school in Tanzania.
BecomingX aims to create a world where everyone can realise their potential - no matter what their starting point in life. They share the experience of some of the world’s most inspiring and iconic people – showcasing possibility and demonstrating how anyone can achieve their ambitions. They aim to demystify what it takes to succeed and equip people, from all backgrounds, with the confidence and skills to realise their full potential.

I may have made it to the top of Kilimanjaro, but the work on this project isn't done. I need YOUR HELP to reach my goal, and help these wonderful charities do their very important work.

Everyone has the capacity to achieve extraordinary things. We are taking an international team to climb Kilimanjaro - the tallest peak in Africa and the highest freestanding mountain on Earth (19,341ft). We aim to build the skills and confidence of the participants, whilst also raising money to support our aim to create a world where everyone can realise their potential, no matter what their starting point in life. Participants are covering all of their costs, so 100% of what is raised goes towards the charity. Show them your support! If you want to sign up to our future challenges, go to www.becomingx.org
