Cause for SB Paws needs help to save Bear, a 7-year old Rottweiler with a life threatening condition called Prostatitis. After becoming lethargic, vomiting, and having no interest in food, Bear spent the day on IV fluids at West Highland Dog & Cat Hospital Wed, 3/22. Still unsure of his condition, he was transferred to Grand Terrace Animal Emergency Clinic Wed evening and was hospitalized overnight for xrays, bloodwork, ultrasound of his abdomen, and more IV fluids. By Thu morning his condition was still unknown, but bloodwork showed a raging infection and imaging showed a mass or masses or cysts in his prostrate/bladder area as well as an enlarged/swollen prostrate.
On Thu 3/22, Caryn took Bear to California Vet Specialists in Ontario where a new sonogram was done to get a better picture of the masses or cysts on his prostrate. That’s when he was diagnosed with Prostatitis. Doctors tried to drain the cysts and found a large, pus-filled pocket, indicating the infection was worse than they thought, so he is spending the night tonight, Thu 3/22, on antibiotic fluids.
As you can imagine, his bills have added up. Please see pics of receipts and estimates. It will cost approximately $2000 when all is said and done to get Bear back on track and healthy.
