Final week! New MATCH announced - any donation will be doubled until we reach our goal! Deadline Friday April 12 at 11:59AM
We know that young people are capable of spectacular things.
We’ve been proving it for 15 years in the forest of New Hampshire at Beam Camp, where kids from 10 to 17 build miraculous projects designed by world-class architects, artists and engineers.
Now we’re bringing these incredible projects to the neighborhoods of New York City starting this spring with DUMBO.
Our first project is FlipNYC: two of the world’s largest mechanical, solar-powered Flipbooks.
Right now at the Beam Center workshop in Red Hook, the NYC Beam Fellows, students ages 15-18, are welding, wiring and woodworking to bring FlipNYC to life.
The NYC Beam Fellows will work with local elementary and middle school students to trace and color the 200 Flipbook images needed to bring the animation to life. FlipNYC will be on view for the public to interact and play with throughout Summer 2019.
Your donations will support this FREE program by contributing to design and engineering fees, community workshops, materials, and staffing.
Your contributions to this Crowdrise Challenge help us build the project AND be eligible for additional prize money - up to $50,000!
Help us in the final stretch! Every donation this week will be MATCHED until we reach our goal of $6,000.
FINAL Deadline: Friday April 12th by NOON!
