In 1981, the late Bea Gaddy said that she prayed to God that if she could somehow afford to give her family a Thanksgiving Dinner, she would share it with whoever else needed one. For the next 5 nights in a row, she won the Maryland State Lottery for a grand total of $290. That Thanksgiving Day, she stood in her doorway and invited 49 people to come in and eat with her. Over the next 37 years, Bea Gaddy and the Bea Gaddy Family Centers has provided a hot meal, bags of groceries, clothes and other family necessities to well over 200,000 of our neighbors in Baltimore and throughout the State of Maryland. We also strive to make the holidays wonderful for hundreds of children at Christmas time as well.
It is our goal this year to feed 30,000 people for Thanksgiving. We cannot do that without your help.
Please consider donating to help us serve our most vulnerable citizens.
The Bea Gaddy Family Centers is a community based nonprofit organization that assists and provides food and other items to our neighbors throughout the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan Area and throughout Maryland; we use your donations to help the lives of many.
Our focus is and always will be to maintain the legacy of the late Dr. Bea Gaddy, our founding volunteer. The volunteers at the Bea Gaddy Family Centers are dedicated women and men who sincerely have a passion for helping others. They reflect the spirit of love and desire to work together for the good of our city and state.
