A few weeks ago there was some disturbing vadalism at Bainbridge Dance Center — anti-semitic graffiti consisting of swastikas and neonazi symbols were painted on the fence just outside Studio B. We filed a report with the police and quietly removed the grafitti as we were hoping to not upset our students. With the recent rain, these symbols are starting to reappear. This seems like a sign that this is an important opportunity to have a more active conversation about inclusion and activism at BDC.
We assume that this was an isolated act by a young person expressing anger or frustration through hate. But these are symbols of mass murder that are particularly chilling in today’s climate of intolerance. Please join us for a special fundraiser:
