As first year students in the Masters of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics program at Baylor College of Medicine, we are participating in the Houston Marathon/ Half Marathon/ 5k as a way to celebrate mobility! As future practitioners in the field of O&P, we see the value in our physical potential. In supporting ROMP in this way, our physical ability is directly promoting the mobility of others.
Range of Motion Project (ROMP) is a non-profit, for-impact healthcare organization dedicated to providing prosthetic and orthotic care to those without access to these services. Very active in Ecuador and Guatemala, ROMP believes that people are disabled because of a missing prosthesis, not because of a missing limb. If we reach our collective goal of raising $5000, five individuals will be outfitted with the prosthetic technology they require for regaining their independence, not just the device they can afford.
As future clinicians, your support in our career path means so much. Thank you for your consideration to donate to this worthy cause!
Sincerely, BCM graduating class of 2020
