I am asking for donations for “Squatlanta”, a fundraiser sponsored by the Women’s Barbell Club. This fundraiser is in support of the Planned Parenthood Southeast Advocates, whose mission is to protect every women's right to reproductive health. I cannot actually be at the event on November 9th due to a previous engagement, but my goal is to raise $1 for every pound I WOULD HAVE SQUATED!
Why am I doing this? It’s because I honestly owe how my current life turned out to Planned Parenthood organization. In 1974, only a year after safe abortions were made legal, it was the only safe place a 15 year old could go for birth control without parental approval. Without having a safe place to obtain free birth control pills I am sure my life would have gone down a different path and it would certainly not be the life I have today.
Planned Parenthood's mission, since its inception in 1916, is to ensure that every child is a wanted child, and to protect reproductive health by providing comprehensive, medically accurate sex education and quality health care, while advocating for the rights of women, men, and families. The Planned Parenthood Southeast Advocates continues to fight for those rights as they are being challenged.
Please donate to help the Squatlanta team reach the event goal of $3000 for PPSEA. I am grateful for donations of any amount to support this cause! Thank you so much!
