Hello, ladies and gents!
I am fundraising for Achilles International as a charity entrant for the NYC Triathlon and I have pledged at least $2500 to participate.
When I ran in the Brooklyn half marathon, I noticed some runners with these bright yellow shirts, running side by side with a small tether. Curious, I looked and one of the shirts said "blind runner" and the other one said "guide". They were running a fast pace and everyone cheered them on. These shirts were on the guide and the athlete of an organization named Achilles International.
They recognize the importance of athletic achievement among people with all abilities. It is so inspiring that despite challenges and hardships, there is room for everyone with all abilities to achieve amazing and great things, like crossing that finish line! So I will be racing along with other Achilles athletes and on behalf of them. I want to help lift and support this great organization.
Please help out with whatever you can! I would really appreciate all the support to help me swim, bike, run along with this amazing athletes and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support.
Achilles International’s mission is to enable people with all types of disabilities to participate in mainstream athletics in order to promote personal achievement, enhance self esteem, and lower barriers to living a fulfilling life.
