Hello Friends,
As an employee of Manulife /John Hancock I have been selected in our annual employee lottery for a sponsor spot in the Boston Marathon to be held on April 15, 2019.
As some of you know, my eldest daughter Reagan, 14, has Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and it certainly touches most aspects of our daily lives. Reagan's strength, attitude and fighting spirit in dealing with this genetic condition and all the attendant treatments and related issues are a marvel to us. For me it makes the work of training for this marathon seem quite minor by comparison.
The Bandolas have taken to doing 5km and 10kms races as a family as it is good therapy to fortify Reagan's lungs for the frequent and serious respiratory issues which CFers are predisposed to.
As part of sponsor spot commitment I have pledged to try to raise funds for the charity of my choice - Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada.
I attended a few RMHC charity events in 2018 and RMHC's work in providing home away from home for out-of-town families with sick children being treated at nearby hospitals is truly invaluable.
If you are able to support me in my fundraising in any way I would be very grateful.
Thank you for your consideration.
Mark Bandola
