Baldwinsville Community Park was initially created through the cooperation of the Village of Baldwinsville and the members of the Baldwinsville Lions Club in the 1960's. At that time, the Lions adopted a run down fishing shack to become the new home for the Lions. As time passed, numerous improvements were made to the old building, and a large addition was added to the original structure in the early 2000's. The building is now named the Lion Joe Ritter Community House in honor of teacher and Lion Joe, and continues to be the home for the Lions and is available for use by members of the community for a nominal fee.
The Lions Club proudly looks upon the Ritter Community House as our continuing community service project and home to our Club. Like any structure such as this, maintenance is required. At this point in time, the building needs a new roof and we look forward to hosting many weddings, reunions, graduation parties, showers and other celebrations at our beautiful park once that repair is completed.
With your financial help we will be able to replace the roof on the Community house and the adjacent picnic pavilion, complete other upgrades and repairs, install a new swing set for disabled children.
All funds raised will be used to finance these projects and other improvements to Community Park.
