Heart disease and stroke can be fatal, but they can also lead to serious illness, disability, and lower quality of life. Suffering a stroke may lead to significant disability, such as paralysis, speech difficulties, and emotional problems. Following a heart attack, individuals frequently suffer fatigue and depression, and they may find it more difficult to engage in physical activities.
Barclay, Dessa, Jill and I would like to do our part to contribute to the quality of life of those who are suffering these ill effects related to stroke and heart events by participating in Rock the Ride cycling event fundraiser. The donations will support the St. John’s Hospital Foundation’s Cardiac and Stroke Fund. The fund at St. John’s provides financial support to our local friends, coworkers, and family members in the aftermath of stroke and cardiac events. Among other things, it offers financial assistance to patients and their families for the cost of travel and lodging when they need to receive medical care outside of Jackson, screenings, medications, and physical therapy that may not be covered by insurance.
Please help support St. Johns Foundation’s Cardiac and Stroke fund by contributing to our campaign. Our team will be pedaling along with a community of other fundraising teams to make a difference for our dear loved ones and friends.
