Before Clay and I married, I had been told that it would possibly be difficult for me to have children. I just took it for what it was and thought we would deal with the issue when the time came. Skip forward a few years...we had been married for about 2 years and thought of trying to have a baby. I had been having a few issues dealing with my hormones and was on and off medicine as it was so I went in for a routine checkup and to talk with the Dr. about our plans. The doctor decided to do some blood work to check my hormone levels and some other things. Two days later while at work, I received a phone call. The nurse happily informed me that I was pregnant! This was not planned at all, but we were oh so thankful. I cried and laughed, and immediately called Clay to tell him. We found out I was pregnant in February and was due October 14th. However, due to complications during my pregnancy, our son was born on August 23rd at 32 weeks, weighing right at four pounds! Talk about answered prayers! He was perfect but needed to stay in the hospital a little longer.
Finally, on September 21st. we got to bring our sweet Aiden home! This August he will be turning 6 and we couldn’t be more proud of him! We tell you the story of how he was born to say this; the birth of our sweet boy showed us that everything is possible in God’s timing and that we need not get carried away with our own plans.
During the last few years, we had talked about trying to have another child numerous times as well as adopting. Adoption was clearly something still pulling at our hearts. Due to the complications I had when I was pregnant with Aiden and the rounds of fertility medication I have since then taken, we have felt led to grow our family through adoption. Not only will we be blessed with a sweet babe, but we will get the chance to be a blessing to a child in need of a forever family!
Pure Gift of God has so graciously allowed for us to work with them through a matching grant. They will match dollar for dollar of what we raise and all funds will go directly to adoption expenses! We are so thankful for foundations such as these!
For any amount given, we will be forever grateful, but most of all we ask for your prayers. Pray for us as we wait for the child God has specifically for our family. Pray for our sweet birth mama and her baby wherever they may be...that she may be given peace and comfort in the days ahead.
Blessings,
Clay & Jessica Lamb
