Thank you for visiting our donation page for the 2021 Cape Cod Bay Challenge (CCBC). On July 31st we will take to the water to help raise money for a wonderful non-profit organization in Boston called Christopher’s Haven (www.christophershaven.org). Christopher’s Haven provides housing to children (and their families) who come to Boston for pediatric cancer treatment.
While it may be in Boston , Christopher's Haven is not just a “local” charity. Children and families from all over the country and world come to Boston for its world class medical facilities and innovative pediatric cancer treatments. Christopher’s Haven not only provides housing for families who have a child going through cancer treatment but it is a support system to help with things large and small, and a community where families can be together, share a laugh, be comforted, and comfort others. Christopher’s Haven allows kids and families to focus their energies on the challenge of beating cancer. It is an amazing place.
I started the Cape Cod Bay Challenge with my good friend Mike Brown in 2007. My family has always been there to help. My brother was one of the original 8 and has paddled it many times, my daughter and son-in-law have paddled it also. Family also did much of the work behind the scenes providing ground support, medical support, marketing, lots of donations, and my Mom was always our biggest cheerleader. I wish she was here to see the 1st year that 3 generations of us will be paddling together.
I'm excited to have my wife Suzanne and daughter Jacqui join me this year on the water and you could say my granddaughter Aria has been preparing for this since birth. I’m happy we opened up a CCBC Lite this year….Aria still has a few years before she’ll be ready for the full distance paddle even though she has asked every year since she was three when she can do it…😊
Please consider donating to our paddle! Now more than ever, children who are affected by cancer and come to Boston for treatment need Christopher’s Haven and Christopher's Haven needs our support.
