Welcome to my fundraising page! I am so excited and honored to be running the 124th Boston Marathon as a member of the B.A.A. Charity Team!
As most of you know, running is a huge part of my life. It has impacted me in so many positive ways from showing me how to be disciplined & follow my ambitions, to helping me live a healthy lifestyle, to inspiring others to get out there and run, to giving me the opportunity to meet some of the best friends I could ever ask for! Most importantly, running has inspired my two young daughters to run – every day they say they have to "run like mommy" to get their exercise!
When I found out that the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) had a Boston Marathon Charity Team I was beyond excited for a chance to be able to run as part of their team! The B.A.A. does so many great things for kids and for the community.
Many of you know the B.A.A. hosts the Boston Marathon but they also do SO much more than that. Established in 1887, their mission is to promote a healthy lifestyle through sports, especially running. The B.A.A. is committed to furthering this mission by bringing the benefits of running and healthy lifestyles to kids and the greater community.
Funds raised by the B.A.A. Charity Team will strengthen its community initiatives, while also providing essential support to expand access to running and healthy living in the cities and towns along the Boston Marathon course and beyond.
Current initiatives include:
- Boston Marathon Youth Jamboree (Hosted for kids in grades Pre-K through grade 8. Kids will be able to run, jump and throw at a variety of activity stations and participate in age group races on the track. VIP clinicians and coaches help mentor the kids throughout the day.)
- Boston Middle School Cross Country Championship
- Road to Wellness 5K in Roxbury
- Mayor's Cup Cross Country Youth Races
- B.A.A. Relay Challenge
- Boston Scholastic Cross Country League
- Boston Parks & Recreation Programs
It is my hope that spreading the word about this charity will help others experience how amazing running can be through all of the wonderful events that the B.A.A. hosts and, more importantly, will inspire kids & adults to live a healthy, active lifestyle and to challenge themselves to always aim high. I cannot wait to see my daughters, Charlotte & Claire, cheering for me on race day. I want to show them, and everyone watching me, that anything is possible if you have a passion and follow your dreams!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR DONATION AND SUPPORT! Please forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate, too.
[Please note: the B.A.A is a non-profit, 501c3 organization so your donation is tax deductible. Many corporations also do a corporate match which will double your donation amount.]
See you on Marathon Monday - April 20, 2020!!!!
