In 2017, the Yellow Rose had an engine failure on approach to Kelly Field. The aircraft landed safely, but was now stranded far from home and in need of a new engine. With the help of hundreds of supporters, we were able to raise over $75,000 for the purchase of a new engine, and our volunteers contributed countless hours on the road culminating in the successful return of the Yellow Rose to San Marcos in 2018. Unfortunately, on that return flight, we experienced a brake fire that delayed our return to the airshow circuit until 2020. The fire also had the effect of doing cosmetic damage to the aircraft that will require extensive sheet metal work to restore the aircraft to the standard we aspire to. While we are ecstatic that we will be on the airshow circuit in 2020, we are looking to raise the funds necessary to remediate the cosmetic damage done by the fire. You can help get the Yellow Rose back in perfect form with your contribution to our effort!
