As an avid runner and someone who is passionate about helping out in the community, I am so honored to have my application accepted by the Allyson Whitney Foundation to run the Big Sur International Marathon in Monterey Bay, California in April of 2020.
There were various foundations to choose from, but Allyson Whitney Foundation stood out to me because of who they represent. I have volunteered for many organizations and continue to do so but throughout my years of volunteering, I never came across a foundation that helps young adults diagnosed with cancer. All donations raised go towards helping with medical and living expenses, so that young adults diagnosed with cancer can focus on treatment and not worry about the expenses.
I am calling all of my family, friends, coworkers, friends of friends and really everyone to join me by contributing any amount (small or big) to help me meet a minimum of $1,500. My goal is to raise more than $1,500 but it’s always good to start small. I guarantee that it will feel fantastic knowing that you are making a difference in someone’s life who truly needs it. Unfortunately, we all know someone who has fought or is fighting cancer, so this is our opportunity to give back, even if just a little. Thank you in advance for all of you who continue to support me and the many lives you will be helping out. To learn more about the foundation, just click here: Allyson Whitney Foundation.
