Hi everyone! Thanks for taking the time to look at this page. As you may know, running has become a big passion of mine while living in Chile, and I am so grateful for the community it has given me.
Although South America has a ton of amazing races that my teammates will be doing, I've chosen Big Sur to be my first full marathon (26 miles/42 kilometers) so I can be around friends and family, and finish the race essentially in my backyard! I remember doing the 5k as a kid and then playing for the runners and cheering them on with the middle school band, and now can't wait to experience running it.
While looking through the many great charity partnerships the marathon has, I immediately was drawn to Allyson Whitney Foundation and their mission to "shine a spotlight on young adults with their unique genetically different cancers." As they say, it can happen to anyone at any time, and among many changes and hardships comes an unfortunate financial burden that the Allyson Whitney Foundation focuses on alleviating. I am happy to be a part of this foundation, and thank you for also taking part!
