An amazing girl named Ava
is taking the day that should be all about her and making it a day to help others. Ava is helping The Blue Card raise much needed funds and awareness for Holocaust survivors living 200% below the poverty line in the US.
Most Holocaust survivors are trying to live normal lives using their tiny pensions from menial jobs, social security, or their life's savings. However, it is just not enough and they are put in the position of having to choose between paying rent or buying food; between paying for electricity or medications.
For her Bat Mitzvah, Ava wants to give back and do some good, especially with everything that is happening this year. Ava is starting a fundraising campaign to raise money to help more Holocaust survivors in need have access to basic necessities that everyone has a right to.

We cannot abandon the needs of this most vulnerable population. Dignity was forcibly taken from them during the Holocaust, and The Blue Card ensures that its clients don't lose their dignity again, in their last years.
