Throughout the past months, our lives have been profoundly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic: physically, socially, mentally and, for many of us, economically. Because of the “Stay at Home, Save Lives” national appeal and he need for social distancing, Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP) has significantly altered how our survivor support groups are conducted. All of our in-person support groups have gone on hiatus, and we have moved what meetings we can into the virtual space so that those who most need our help to address sexual abuse in their lives can still connect with others, be present in a supportive setting, and participate in the healing process.
Unfortunately, not all of our support groups have the means by which to shift from in-person support to virtual support. In order to provide support for every group and area that needs it, SNAP needs to purchase more video-conferencing software licenses in order to facilitate more survivor support groups. Now, we are working to raise $2,000 so we can purchase enough licenses to facilitate an additional 40 online groups.
SNAP needs your help and your generosity to achieve our $2,000 goal.
The GivingTuesdayNow GoFundMe Charity Match Program will match up to $1,000 if SNAP supporters donate above that amount, so any donations you make by May 5 will go twice as far and help us get these support groups up and running as soon as possible. We thank you in advance for your kindness, compassion and commitment to our mission to protect the vulnerable, heal the wounded and prevent the abuse.
SNAP is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. No goods and/or services will be received in exchange for your donation. Our tax-deductible ID number is 36-4154398.
