These are my friends Hilda and Ivan. These are the asylum seekers that President Trump & his supporters joked about shooting last week. I and over 100 volunteers have been working with Hilda & Ivan Ramirez and Alirio Gomez to keep them safe from ICE deportation and certain death back in their home countries.

Ivan is now 13 years old. When he came to our country at age 9, he & his mother were placed in a for profit detention center for 11 months. Ivan has never known what real freedom feels like. He has now been living in a converted office of our church for the past 3 years. He has been able to go to school and play soccer. But he has not had a place that he can call his home.
Austin Sanctuary Network has raised over half of its goal needed to hire a professional organizer to bring our friends to safety. Our fund raiser is taking place from Mother’s Day to Father’s Day. Please consider a donation to honor someone you love and bring freedom to Hilda, Ivan & Alirio.
The Austin Sanctuary Network, stands in solidarity with undocumented immigrants who are being held unjustly and denied legal status.
The Austin Sanctuary Network, is looking for a dynamic organizer to help us in our important work of directly supporting three immigrants: Hilda Ramirez, her son Ivan, and Alirio Gamez who are living in sanctuary at two member congregations in Austin, Texas.
If deported, Hilda and Alirio would face certain death in their home countries and Ivan would be separated from his loving mother. Austin Sanctuary Network is preventing them from being deported and working to ensure that their basic human rights of life, liberty, and safety are protected.
