This is our fundraising page for our Warrior Athlete Ashley's participation in Hotlanta Half Marathon on June 10, 2018.
Ashley is 31 years old and has Down syndrome. This amazing young woman is also "Miss Amazing Georgia" for 2017. She loves dancing and singing, spending time with friends and family. Ashley has had to have knee surgeries and so running is not something she is able to do. Running with EAS makes it possible! Ashley truly loves being active and being right in the middle of the excitement of events and activities. She loves the wind in her face and the thrill of crossing the finish line, too!
This young woman is on a journey of self discovery, learning what she is capable of, who she is. We really enjoy seeing her growth and watching her as she is coming into her own. We are excited she has allowed us the honor of being part of her journey and hope she finds the experience of racing all that we know it can be.
Our Mission
EndeaVor Adaptive Sports’ mission is to enable and broaden opportunity for individuals with diverse abilities to participate in community sports, recreational activities and educational programs. Our purpose is to foster inclusion, independence, increase confidence, and improve health in all its forms. Through collaboration with local business and community focused organizations and events, physical support of staff and volunteers and provision of equipment, we offer a unique avenue of participation in the multi-sport sector for individuals with disabilities.
Our Vision for the Future
With EndeaVor Adaptive Sports, engaging, enabling and empowering people to reach their potential is our passion. And making sure no one is left on the sidelines is our goal. EAS envisions individuals everywhere challenging their personal limits, both in and out of sport related activities. When we challenge ourselves in the arena of sport, we discover that we are stronger and more able than we might believe. We find our strength, determination and willpower to accomplish goals and connect with our passions.
Through EndeaVor, individuals with diverse abilities have an opportunity to engage in their community, challenge their limits and become empowered by their accomplishments. When individuals with disabilities participate in adaptive sport and the relationships that it nurtures, both the individual and the community discovers that empowerment is not merely a catch phrase but an end result.
