I have been immersed in the art community in Charlotte since moving here in 1987. I've been fortunate to pursue my creative interests and see the changes offered to artists in a variety of ways. One unique non-profit organization is doing something so exciting that I had to get involved and joined their board last month.
We know that arts are good for communities, businesses, and individuals in so many ways. It encourages brain development in children, beautifies communities, and brings cultural value and interest to cities. ArtPop Street Gallery is a huge part of this. ArtPop brings art to communities by putting artists' work on billboards, news stands, digital billboards in airports and other available spaces. It essentially turns communities into galleries and brings art to everyone!
Our mission is to
Provide our artists with an advertising platform on a LARGE SCALE!
Promote local artists works and make art accessible to communities through available media space.
Offer opportunities for the pop up gallery community with engagement shows.
ArtPop offers opportunities to artists. Selected artists get their art seen on a HUGE scale and with tons of exposure! If you're an artist, I encourage you to apply--we offer artist calls in many cities around the country. Not an artist? You can still contribute to an area's cultural economic health by supporting ArtPop Street Gallery!
Here's how YOU can SUPPORT ArtPop Street Gallery! ALL funds raised through my campaign will go to ArtPop-- Let's do this together! My goal is to raise no less than $2000 for ArtPop Street Gallery.
$2000 will purchase four artists billboard vinyls for an entire year.
Even donations as small as $10 will help ArtPop Street Gallery purchase the vinyls for our cities billboard programs, provide scholarship dollars to our juried-in Senior High School students on their transition to study the arts in college, as well as help us to provide a business of art course by ArtistsU.
For any donation of $100 or more, I will personally send you a packet of 12 4”x6” note cards— (two images each of six) of my recent paintings as a “thank you” directly from me!
