It is a critical time for the arts. Even at the best of times, artists are expected to operate on paper-thin profit margins. Now, the global COVID-19 pandemic has pushed artists and the nonprofit arts industry disastrously close to the edge of oblivion.
Because Glendale Arts believes that working artists are key to a vibrant community, we have created an Emergency Relief Fund aimed at helping artists of all disciplines, living in Glendale, who have been financially impacted by COVID-19.
Please consider contributing to our Covid-19 Artist Relief Fund. Donations in any amount - $10, $25, $50 or more will help reach our goal of raising $25,000 to support working artists.
We will help as many artists as we can for as long as we have funds or the crisis ends - whichever comes sooner. Funds raised will support individual artists who have lost income because of cancellations and work stoppage due to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as maintain Glendale Arts’ efforts to remain a resilient voice for hope, healing, and wellness now and in recovery. This is considered emergency funding and can be used for rent, food, utilities, medical needs, art supplies, for example.
As the management company of the Alex Theatre for more than 10 years, Glendale Arts has become an expert at the intersection of non-profit, community, arts, and culture. We are the connective tissue that brings artists, the arts, businesses, and community together. We believe the arts are the force that drives our culture and brings people together. It is time to come together now, at this moment, to ensure artists can continue to share their stories and preserve our culture.
