Heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported our programs! We are grateful for a community of supporters like you! Your donations allowed us to quickly transition from studio, community, and school programs to virtual art programs! You have allowed us to continue to work towards our mission of building a bridge between each individuals’ capabilities and their imagination. With your help and support, Art therapy Express continues to be a place where everyone can speak through their art.
Art Therapy Express, a visual and expressive therapeutic arts organization, provides free special education school art programs, $5 for individuals with mild to severe multiple disabilities in the community, and $10 for nonprofit organizations, resulting in limited earned revenue. Due to the pandemic, many of our partners have temporarily closed their doors, and the community of children and adults with disabilities that we serve is at the highest risk, and therefore the last to return to public spaces. Our ATE parents reported that our programs have become a lifeline for their sons and daughters. With our virtual setting, ATE is still a place where people can come together and create a masterpiece. In January, we will resume the school programs, along with nonprofit organizations in a virtual program format.
During the pandemic, we can’t help but see potential. We are afforded the opportunity to create new venues of online programming.
- Art therapy sessions for children and adults with multiple, mild to severe, physical, \
intellectual, and emotional disabilities (beginner and advanced)
- 1:1 sessions for individuals needing adaptive technology and focused support
- Caregiver self-care art sessions
- Art psychotherapy for individuals needing emotional support and/or frontline
- Virtual paint parties & special events
- “Possibilities” art show and sale in April
We remain fully committed to the survival of Art Therapy Express, to our participants, and to the families we serve. ATE is even more dedicated to continue our programs throughout these challenging times. Our programs are a vital connection for our participants and their parents. Our families truly depend on Art Therapy Express, now more than ever. We have an exceptional board of directors and exceptional families that are committed to our survival. We are driven by our underlying belief that art is a human right and a voice of self-expression for our participants, and that is worth fighting for!
