Rosie's Place was founded in 1974 as the first women-only shelter in the United States. What began as a safe place for poor and homeless women to get a bed and a meal in Boston has grown into a community center providing wide-ranging support, education and outreach services to 12,000 women a year.
Rosie's Place is near and dear to our hearts at Ursuline Academy. In lieu of selling tickets for our play "All I Really Need to Know I Learned by Being in a Bad Play" a One-Act comedy by Werner Trieschmann -- our UA Drama Cast & Crew would like to collect donations to create Art Kit Care Packages for the women at Rosie's Place.
Why Art Kits? Well, Ursuline has recently completed a very successful Women's History Month Food Drive for Rosie's Place. And so Ursuline Drama wanted to do something a bit different, and with a creative and artistic twist. And provide these women with something special that might spark joy and creativity. We are Ursuline Drama afterall!
Thank you for anything you can contribute towards this wonderful cause!
