Unfortunately due to Covid-19, school and our spring soccer season were cancelled. We decided to continue to stay fit and put our time to good use by organizing a fundraiser for Arlington EATS. From their website, "Arlington EATS' mission is to eliminate food insecurity by providing nutritious and culturally appropriate food in a respectful and compassionate manner to any Arlington resident in need." Arlington EATS started at the Thompson School by providing free and nutritious snacks to hungry students so they were more able to learn. Over the last several years it has grown to include providing food for students and families on the weekends, school vacation weeks, and over the summer. When the pandemic forced the closure of schools, Arlington EATS continued to feed Arlington residents by delivering meals to people in need. As a result of Covid-19, the need for food has risen dramatically and we want to help Arlington EATS meet this increased demand for food among our neighbors. Our fundraiser involved team members running and keeping track of our miles run over a two-week period from May 19 - June 2, with a goal of 100 total team miles. We had 11 team members run and Crushed Our Goal by running 136.5 miles! Please consider making a donation to help us reach our next goal of raising $1,000 for Arlington EATS. Whether you want to donate per-mile or a lump sum donation, the amount entered should be the total amount you wish to donate. Donations made on this page go directly to Arlington EATS. Thanks so much!
