As an American Red Cross board member, I’m asking you to join me in providing critical relief—including shelter, food and more—to people affected by the unrelenting wildfires across the Western U.S. Dozens of deadly wildfires are raging across the Western U.S., consuming millions of acres of land. In tragic cases, uncontrolled blazes have torn through homes, community buildings and even entire towns, practically wiping them off the map. Hundreds of thousands of people have been forced to flee ahead of these terrifying fires, and even more face dangerous, smoke-filled air. To help impacted residents, trained Red Cross disaster workers are working tirelessly to provide them with shelter, serve them nourishing meals, offer sorely needed emotional support and more. There are currently over 30 Alaskan volunteers deployed either on the ground or virtually in support of these catastrophic wildfires.
