Hey there everyone,
I've decided to run the Chicago Marathon this year and am fundraising for the Special Olympics as part of the run. This will be my first time running a marathon, and I'm very excited for the opportunity.
While I don't have any direct connection to the Special Olympics, I believe this is a great cause and appreciate any donation!
The mission of the special olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for the 200 million children and adults around the world with intellectual disabilities.
Special Olympics supports more than 5 million athletes, 1 million coaches and volunteers, and about 100,000 competitions each year. The program offers 32 Olympic-style individual and team sports in more than 170 countries.
It is free for athletes to participate in Special Olympics Chicago programs, but the funds raised benefit the athletes of Special Olympics Chicago by covering the costs for transportation, medals, equipment, uniforms, food, and lodging.
Thanks so much for anything you are able to donate!
- Danny
