Springtime is our busiest time of year, when we become inundated with orphaned and injured baby wildlife. Our 2020 spring baby season coincided with the COVID-19 crisis, resulting in the cancelation of our yearly Baby Shower fundraiser, future events, and other donations supporting our operating costs.
In following COVID-19 precautions, we have modified our wildlife rehabilitation procedures, reflecting significantly smaller staff and canceled public tours, while also maximizing our limited resources.
Our fundraiser cancelations have pushed us to lean more heavily on social media for support and donations, which at a time of record high unemployment and business closures has presented a unique set of challenges.
Despite the COVID-19 upset, our sanctuary remains open 7 days per week to support wildlife in need during the pandemic, and has not turned away any wildlife in distress. Since January we’ve admitted approximately 300 wildlife patients, with fawns and other baby wildlife arriving in May.
Your gift will provide wild infant formula, food, medical supplies, caging, enrichment, and operating supplies (bleach, soap, garbage bags, masks, paper towels, baby wipes, etc.) for our busiest season, when orphaned and injured baby wildlife are most at risk.
Antler Ridge Wildlife Sanctuary is a certified 501(c)3 nonprofit, open year round and run 100% by volunteers.
