We need your help so we can help more people!
Due to the critical moment that our nation is facing, the Chicago Anti Eviction Campaign is asking for your help to support our Hood for Humanity program which focuses on rehabbing homes for low income affordable housing, workforce development and land transformation.
Our organization has acquired through donations and discounts, properties in economically challenged neighborhoods in and around the Chicagoland area. Fixing these houses into homes is for the purpose of neighborhood stabilization and to create low income affordable housing. We currently have an emergency, transitional homes, low income housing, and we are working on a women’s transitional house, and a house for a veteran home owner. In light of COVID-19 we would like to expedite the rehabbing of these properties to provide shelter for families and individuals during these times when stay at home orders and social distancing must be practiced for the health and well-being of our nation. Currently, we have one home that we are trying to finish for a family of 5, soon to be 6 as the mother is about to welcome a newborn by the end of the month. We know there are more families in need of shelter and homes and we have the potential to meet an imminent need during times of imminent threat.
With the support of your funding, rehabbing these properties would not only provide safe and secure housing for those most vulnerable during this pandemic but also provide employment to those in our workforce development program when unemployment is rising and job security is scarce.
Thank you for your consideration and support! Any size donation is welcomed and appreciated as it brings us one step closer to making sure housing is a human right we can honor.
