The pandemic has had a detrimental impact on education in Africa, and many countries like Uganda without widespread internet access and infrastructure were forced to shut down schools in March 2020 with no remote learning options. Most students in Uganda will have gone a year or more before being able to return to any type of schooling. Many schools have had to close their doors permanently with increased costs and no tuition funding. Thanks to our amazing donors, John Paul Secondary School has been able to retain all of its teachers and opened its doors to students in late 2020. We are excitedly welcoming students back in waves as the government allows but the financial impact for the school with this phased approach and costs due to Covid-19 remediation has been great. Will you please consider helping us bridge this funding gap to get the students back to JPSS?
