This year I will be running my first marathon! As many of you know, Matt and I rescued Daisy, our white boxer, from the Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL) this summer. She has quickly become an irreplaceable family member and enthusiastic running partner.
I hope to give back by donating to support the ARL's mission. Seeing the dedicated volunteers and continuous donations that are necessary to keep the ARL functioning inspired me to run in support of their orgnaization.
It was also heartbreaking to see all the animals in need of a loving home. Daisy was a drooly middle-aged lady labelled as dog-reactive and having anxiety in the shelter. Now that she is home she couldn't be more of a sweetheart bringing joy to everyone she encounters. Advocating for pet adoption at all ages is another important reason why I will be running for the ARL.
Please support me and my mission by donating to my campaign! Every dollar counts and I know Daisy will be more than happy to thank you with hugs and kisses!
The Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL) is thrilled to be celebrating its ninth year in the John Hancock Non-Profit Marathon Program for the 123rd running of the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2019! This is an incredible opportunity for runners to experience the historic course and to raise funds for animals in need.
With the help our supporters, ARL served 18,018 animals in 2017 through a comprehensive range of services including emergency rescue, law enforcement, Animal Care and Adoption Centers, community veterinary services, and advocacy efforts.
