Hello, Only 9 days away for the roadies to take to the road for the 100 mile ride from Telluride to Gateway, named the Mountains to the Desert Bike Ride. I am actually only riding from Norwood to Gateway - 70 miles.
I am asking you to support me on my journey and the Just For Kids Foundation... We’re raising money for the Just For Kids Foundation.
Just For Kids raises money then gives it out, through a granting process, to over 60 youth organizations in the San Miguel Watershed each year. Money goes for scholarships, program supplies, general operating, special purchases and capacity building for area pre-schools, camps, public schools, mentoring organizations, sports teams, and arts and music programs.
Living In Telluride, we can easily loose site of the disparity in San Miguel County. Over 25% of students in the Telluride School District receive free and reduced lunch, and over 20% of students identify as Latino.
--In other school districts JFK serves, the free and reduced lunch rate hovers around 40%.
--Over the past 15 years, JFK has granted regional youth programs over $2 million dollars!
-JFK Granted support to 36 youth organizations, 9 individual student grants, and scholarships for 4 graduating seniors.
Every dollar raised is matched by the Carstens Family Fund at the Denver Foundation, so rest assured your dollar is truly going the distance (just like me on Saturday, September 22nd). Help me by donating today; everyone benefits from an educated, well-adjusted youth. Here is the link, and all you need to do is click on 'Give Now'- Angie's longest ride. Thanks for your support!
