Hi, friends! As we self-isolate and do the best we can to keep each other safe during this COViD-19 pandemic, I wanted to use what little platform I have as a thirsty fangirl to raise money for a charity near and dear to me: Philabundance.
As schools close, workplaces suspend operations and people are urged to limit public interactions, the nearly 700,000 people facing hunger in the Philadelphia area may experience even greater food insecurity as access is cut off to school meals, seniors are urged to stay in their homes and may be unable to collect their senior boxes and those with compromised immune systems opt not to attend public food distributions.
Philabundance is a charity that helps the nearly 1 in 5 people facing hunger in the city of Philadelphia, not only running numerous programs to alleviate hunger today, but the Ending Hunger. For Good. program. Through that program, Philabundance partners with critical service providers to offer food coupled with other services to help break the cycle of poverty and end hunger for good.
