Cancer is a terrifying disease and one that can be hidden in plain sight. At 87 years of age, my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in July. With this surprise discovery, our family was informed that she was already at the palliative care stage and that the cancer has spread throughout her body. Along with this difficult news, we were also not given a timeline for her life expectancy. The Agrace team has worked alongside my family and the caregivers at Attic Angel Place to be sure my mom has everything she needs and is comfortable every day. They have also taken the time to help prepare me for some of the things I may face along the way. Hospice is not a place, it’s an experience and I am thankful for the compassionate care and quality of life they have been able to provide my mom to live the remaining days of her life to the fullest. Not knowing how to accomplish this or where to begin was stressful and Agrace helped my family every step of the way. Agrace has listened carefully and continue to do everything to keep her in her home where she wanted to remain. These people have huge hearts and are truly Angels On Earth…running 3.2 miles doesn’t seem enough to thank them for all they are doing for myself, family and mom!
