In April 2016, Keira Conner passed away at the age of four, due to medical complications caused by CDG. Despite being deaf and mute, Keira remained the embodiment of joy throughout her short life; serving as an inspiration to those in her community. In 2017, Alex and Jeremy Conner created an annual 5k in honor of Keira, as a way of spreading awareness of rare diseases and providing support to those facing similar situations. Due to Keira’s lasting impact on Century High School, it is my hope to build off of what the Conners have created. Any money donated will go towards the advancement of CDG research, and increased information/support provided to families affected by CDG.
