Hey friends and fam,
I’m going to do something this year that should be really fun, challenging and I hope will bring about a lot of good to the STL community…particularly to my good friends Joe/Lauren Walsh and their son Landon.
Landon is a champ and the smiley-est kid I’ve ever met but has a rare genetic disease known as CAMSAP 1. Joe and Lauren are truly inspirational in their quest to cure CAMSAP 1 and impacting the community in a positive way while doing it through their charity Landon's League Foundation. That’s why I’m going to raise some money this year in a very obvious fashion…I’m going to train to dunk a basketball! The end goal/result will be to SLAM DUNK on a 10' rim sometime by the end of the year!!!!
All the money raised will go to Happy 2 Give which in turn goes to Landon's League Foundation via the 2020 Giving Partnership we have with them and my goal is to raise $10,000 throughout this dunk journey. For those that know me I have dunked once before a few years ago after much training and the benefit of a much younger body 😅 At this point in life I can barely touch the rim, and my overall fitness has comprised primarily of running and playing washed-up rec indoor soccer up at Vetta 1x/week. Still, I believe that all things are possible through Jesus Christ whom strengthens us and with a dedicated 10-12 months of training I’m going to do this thing 😊 I will be posting short videos and posts on social media throughout the year of my work outs, dunk attempts, etc for those that want to stay up with my progress.
Please keep me, Landon, and the Walsh family in your prayers through this journey. Thanks in advance for your support!!!!!
