Andrew's Campaign to Prove that Boys Can Dance, Not Just Girls
For those of you that know me, you know that I do not live my life visiting museums, attending the opera, or having to see the ballet. While I appreciate the fine arts, it is not something that I "have to see or do".
So how is it you ask that I was blessed with this talented and passionate ballet dancer? I am not quite sure how the stars aligned that brought him to my door step, but I am eternally grateful that they did. For as long as I can remember, Andrew has wanted to dance. He asked to take ballet lessons for an entire year, starting at the age of three, before we finally signed him up. He has been dancing ever since.
He was so excited when he started at his first formal ballet school, and they had BOYS dancing there. Almost the first words out of his mouth were, "See Mommy, I told you boys and girls could dance, not just girls."
His current school, Colorado Conservatory of Dance (CCD), has a boys program, and he has made many friends that love to dance like him. He has really grown as a dancer and a person during his time at CCD.
Because his school is a not-for-profit, they rely heavily on donations to keep their programs going. Programs that provide anti-bullying performances at local elementary schools, teach ballet to special needs children, and work with four at-risk schools to bring art to their community.
Any donation that you can make to help support his school would be greatly appreciated. It will also keep Andrew dancing, which is all he has ever wanted.
Love,
The Adams Family
