I first became aware of this great organization when I was preparing for my bar mitzvah and did a collection drive for them. Now as I hear the news about more and more families impacted by the pandemic it has made me think about the financial struggles that so many are going through. As a result parents may not be in a position to buy their children the sports equipment they need to play the sports they love.
Founded in 2005, Pitch In For Baseball & Softball believes that baseball and softball are effective tools for youth development. Not only do they give kids a chance to be a kid and play, but it also helps to create healthy communities, break down barriers, and instill valuable life lessons. PIFBS aims to reduce barriers to play and bring communities together by collecting and redistributing much needed baseball/softball equipment to groups serving under-resourced children. Since 2005, PIFB has donated more than $9 million in equipment to help 800,000 kids play ball in every state and 100 countries worldwide.
I will be doing a collection drive as well, but if you don't have equipment to dontate then please consider a monetary donation. Every little bit helps.
Thank you so much in advance!
