Hi. My name is Andrea. I am 40. 8 years ago i got into a bad car accident that left me in a wheelchair. Incomplete C6. C7 spinal cord injury. I was in the hospital for 3 months. 3 weeks of that i was in a induced coma. I had to wear a halo for 4 months. I was at Tirr for 2 months after. When i got out. I got an apartment. My Doctors told me that i may not be able to walk again and was highly against me living on my own. I am very stubborm and motivated woman. I wouldnt let anyone tell me no. I got out 5 months after my accident i was able to get an apartment and stayed my first night alone. For the help of my friends and family i got help when needed it. Soon after my insurance got cancelled. I had medicaid and with no warning i had no insurance. Couldnt go to therapy or no caregiver coming to help. It went on like that for several months and still didnt know what caused it. I then got Medicare. I got into tharapy and was walking alittle after that in a walker. Everything was looking up. Until i startred to get this bad back pain over a year ago. Been struggling with this pain for almost a year. I was told finally by one of my doctors that surgery can help illiminate some of thuz pain. Now medicare will only cover 80 percent and Medicaid denied to claim. So i have to come up with the remaining. Im not someone to ask for help. But im stuggling and want this pain to go away so i can be the best i can be through this fight.
