Noelle is a young kitten of about 5 months of age and her only 5 months of life so far have been rather cruel. Born in the backyard of an elderly man's home, Noelle has been exposed to the cruel and cold northeastern winter weather. With little protection from the outdoor elements, Noelle started suffering from upper respiratory infections that have left her with a painful and ulcerated eye. This is the least of her problems though.
Noelle has a potentially dangerous heart murmur and a severe breathing condition. At this time we are not sure what exactly may be happening. She may have asthma or she may have a congenital heart defect and/or both; the fact is that her breathing is very labored and hard to watch. Noelle needs an echocardiogram at this time to provide us with the first step in either ruling out or diagnosing some of the issues she may have.
After the echo, we will need to see if she's strong enough to sedate to look for a polyp in the soft palate as something that may be potentially causing the labored breathing. She does not have pneumonia as per X-rays. At this time, 1/2/2020, Noelle has been hospitalized at Animal Hospital Surgical Center. She was rushed there this evening after being brought to another emergency vet on 1/1/2020 where she was released but her condition has deteriorated over the course of 24 hours. Under the expert watch of Dr. Infernuso we are hoping to get some answers.
We are in desperate need of help for Noelle. At this time we have spent over $1,000 in medical bills and still do not know what is wrong. She needs further diagnostics to help us determine what may be wrong and set the right course of action.
Noelle is very much loved by her foster and board member, Elena, who has grown fond of her and is heartbroken over seeing her daily struggles. Noelle is an extremely affectionate and sweet kitten. She loves to cuddle and snuggle and be held. She likes and craves the attention she has never had before her rescue. It breaks our hearts thinking that she may only enjoy this for a short amount of time unless we get our answers for a miracle and begin to know how to best help her. Please consider helping us help Noelle. We appreciate any and all help. We will not give up on Noelle.
