On July 27, 2019, I will be running in my 3rd Run to Home Base race in Boston in order to raise funds for Veterans who suffer from the invisible wounds of war, such as PTSD. Home Base is a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Program dedicated to healing the invisible wounds of Veterans and their families. Since inception, Home Base has served more than 15,500 Veterans and family members with care and support.
I choose to participate in this race to give back to those who have freely chosen to join our military and have fought to keep you and I and our country safe. In previous races, I have run side by side with Veterans who have lost limbs and Veterans in full military gear (in the hot, July sun). Many run to honor their fellow men and women who served and did not make it home. It is a very humbling experience
This past year, thru my volunteer activities, I have meet many Veterans with PTSD. On July 27, I will run in their honor. If you know anyone who suffers from the invisible wounds of war, please consider making a donation to my effort in their honor. Let’s help our Veterans!
