On June 15th, 2019, I’ll be taking on the platform again, but this time it’ll be a platform for a much bigger cause. I’ll be participating in Pull for Pride, a nation-wide deadlift only event to benefit select organizations that provide direct support to youth identifying as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ+) who are struggling with homelessness.
This year Pull for Pride Atlanta will benefit Lost-n-Found Youth, an Atlanta-based nonprofit (501c3) that exists to end homelessness for LGBTQ+ and all sexual minority youth. Youth identifying as LGBTQ+ disproportionately experience homeless, accounting for up to 40% of homeless youth and just 7% of the general population.
My goal is to raise at least $325, $1 for each pound I plan to deadlift on the platform. Please consider donating to help me reach (and surpass) this goal and to support this important cause.
And Atlanta area friends (or those who want to travel), please come out and show your support at the event if you can, consider volunteering, or even register and join me on the platform!
