I've been living in the Lower East Side of New York City for the last eight years. I've encountered the girls supported by the Lower East Side Girls' Club everywhere from the store with their products at Essex Market to Tompkins Square Park where they were interviewing passersby for their radio show. All of the girls were vibrant, driven and I could see how they were flourishing to become future leaders with the support and community of the LESGC. I've been wanting to get involved more directly for awhile now and finally can dedicate the time to making an impact as part of the Angel Alliance Board. When home is a place that might not be stable and schools are lacking resources, among a host of other challenges that face young girls, it's vital to be able to see a path to a brighter future. I'm so excited to help these girls sky rocket towards actualizing their potential!
