As of today, more than 30 million Americans suffer from liver disease. That means, 1 in 10 Americans are currently affected by any of the over 100 known liver diseases that exist today. The American Liver Foundation is working relentlessly fight back against liver disease.
I have personally gotten to know the American Liver Foundation through my work in liver cancer. Liver cancer is the fastest-increasing cause of cancer death in the US--death rates have been on the rise since the 1970s, and without improved, patient -centric coordinated care, this will not improve. I have seen first-hand the great work of ALF in patient education and I am proud to support their mission to promote education, support and research for the prevention, treatment and cure of liver disease.
I am running the 2020 United Airlines NYC Half Marathon on Sunday, March 15, 2020, as a part of the ALF Liver Life Challenge team. I appreciate your donation to this great cause!
Thank you for joining in the fight and making a difference in the lives of people affected by liver disease. GO LIVER!
