In 2009 I lost my uncle Nicholas of 22 to mental health. Growing up I knew him as my bestfriend and the goof who first taught me to (as cheesy as it is) be myself, watching him brighten the lives of everyone around him. I was only 7 when I got the news and my heart was completely broken, not to mention all the questions I had. Growing up I've seen how mental health affects everyone and the significance it plays in each of our lives.
I partook in this ride last year for the same reason, I need to help.
I'm so passionate about this nerdy sport and it too has helped me through so much. I'm doing the 100km in name of Nick and I'm so excited for the conversations I again will have the opprotunity to hold with different people. Proceeds go to the Canadian Mental Health Association and the Central Alberta Brain Injury Society. I want to thank everyone for the success we had last year in fundraising! Again, anything is appreciated <3
